I remember being brought up surrounded with Classic and Vintage Cars owned and restored by my father and his friends. Being brought up in this environment I was definitely in love with them. Unfortunately my elder brother got the possession of the only Classic car we had when my father died. Forced by my obsession of having a Classic Car I went on a quest of buying a Classic Car. I am putting the lessons I learnt in this process in the following lines for the benefits of others who are looking to buy a Classic Car.

Whenever you decide to purchase a classic car, you must be very clear about your needs and the nature of your use. Also you must make sure that you know mechanical work required for the general maintenance of your car to some extent.  For instance, if you are not good with working on cars you must not be buying a very old classic car but should be buying a car that is in good shape mechanically. On the other hand, if you are good with a wrench or looking for a project to do in your free time, a car needing some repairs and restoration may save some money.

On the mechanical side the most important thing to look while buying a Classic Car is the engine’s condition. When it comes to Classic Car’s engine health the Preventative maintenance is most important. In time oil changes as well as the quality of oil used are key contributors to the engine quality.
